Detec AS, established in 1981, is a Norwegian company developing and distributing software and hardware products for video surveillance. Detec AS develop their own automatic video surveillance systems capable of detecting, recording and transmitting activity in virtually any setting that requires high-level security and safety. In Norway Detec AS is the market leader in advanced video motion detection and their software products are earning increased recognition also abroad. HERNIS cooperates with Detec AS on sophisticated mathematical analysis of video images for use in our advanced CCTV Video Analytics Systems. Over the last couple of years the two companies have participated in a project led by SINTEF, the largest independent research organization in Scandinavia, developing improved algorithms for detecting motion. The objective is to establish more self-configurative systems for intelligent video analysis. The HERNIS/Detec cooperation has led to high quality solutions for Intrusion Detection, Leakage Detection, Floating Object Detection and Flare Monitoring. By detecting events like oil and gas leakages and triggering alarms at a very early stage the solutions revolutionize fire safety on board oil & gas installations, enabling fire prevention rather than the conventional fire alarming. HERNIS offers Intelligent Flare Detection optionally as an important feature for their flare surveillance systems. The video images will be fed to and analyzed by a PC with Detec AS software designed for this purpose. In event of the flare stops burning operators will be notified by an alarm and the incident may also be recorded. In the case of a potentially critical event an alarm window will pop up notifying the operator of the irregularity detected.
